The Diagnosis I & II
A series of visual interventions outside the Johannesburg train station and on the streets of Alexandra and Soweto. Exploring the white body as sleepwalker. A surreal malady - diagnosis unknown.

The Diagnosis was originally commissioned for Infecting the City and was performed as a durational live installation based in a shop in the Cape Town inner city. Offering the sleeping body for inspection during the daytime hours, the nights produced a series of improvised public actions, the records of which filled the installation space each day. An exercise in the uncanny objectification of a open, masked and passive body, The Diagnosis intervened in the everyday activities of the city, generating conversation around labour, leisure, dreams and altered states of consciousness.
